THIS TRIAL CHAMBER of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991 ("International Tribunal");

NOTING the Status Conference of 17 April 1997;

FURTHER NOTING the following rulings which relate to notification required before witnesses can give testimony: "Order to Provide Notice of Expert Witnesses" (Official Record at Registry Page ("RP") D2671-D2673) of 25 January 1997, the "Decision on the Prosecution’s Motion for an Order Requiring Advance Disclosure of Witnesses by the Defence" (RP D5469-D5487) of 4 February 1998, the Scheduling Order (RP D6037-D6039) of 3 April 1998 and the "Confidential Order on the Prosecutor’s Motion that the Defence of Esad Landzo be Precluded from Calling…an Expert Witness" (RP D6092-D6095) of 20 April 1998, ("Rulings");

CONSIDERING the necessity to consolidate and supplement the Rulings without affecting their continuing force;

FURTHER CONSIDERING that, pursuant to Article 20, paragraph 1, of the Statute of the International Tribunal ("Statute") the "Trial Chamber shall ensure that a trial is fair and expeditious and that proceedings are conducted ... with full respect for the rights of the accused";

PURSUANT TO ARTICLE 20, PARAGRAPH 1 OF THE STATUTE AND RULE 54 of the Rules of Procedure and Evidence,

HEREBY ORDERS that:

(1) The Defence shall file confidentially with the Registry for service on the other defendants, the Trial Chamber and the Office of the Prosecutor, by 15 May 1998:

(a) a list of its expert witnesses, stating the order in which they are to appear, the counts to which each witness is to testify and the expected length of their examination in chief and,

(b) notice for each expert witness for the Defence, consisting of the name of the witness, a curriculum vitae and a statement of the areas about which the witness will testify;

(2)   The Defence shall file confidentially with the Registry for service on the other defendants and the Trial Chamber, a complete list of the witnesses which it intends to call, stating the order in which they are to appear, a summary of their evidence including the counts to which each witness is to testify and the expected length of the examination in chief, by 15 May 1998.
